Droëwors are a traditional South African dried beef sausage that dates back over 400 years. Unlike conventional beef sticks (which are cooked and loaded with preservatives), droëwors are seasoned and cured with vinegar, coriander, pepper, and salt, then gently air-dried for 5-7 days. The result is a firm, protein-packed sausage with a bold flavor and a satisfying snap.
Are Droëwors raw or cooked?
Droëwors are cured and air-dried, not raw. The vinegar marinade and controlled air-drying process naturally preserves the meat, making it shelf-stable and safe to eat without cooking.
Are Droëwors safe to eat?
Yes! Droëwors have been safely consumed for over 400 years using traditional curing and air-drying methods. The vinegar and salt naturally eliminate bacteria and preserve the meat, while the controlled drying process removes moisture to extend shelf life.

All of our products are processed and shipped from our USDA-approved facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This is my second time ordering Droë wors from this business, it is Delicious! I also ordered biltong, it is so good. I will be ordering my biltong and droë wors from them from now on.
These might be the best Droewors I have ever had and i have tried a lot of them. They are on the slightly drier side vs wet but not overly dry like Biltong Depot. As a matter of fact they are perfect for my taste as that is how i like them. No upset stomach either which is a major plus. The spices don't overpower it either and are very subtle.
Delicious!!! I bought 2 bags for my husband and I for our weekend camping trip last week, it was the perfect snack! Definitely buying again.
